Joint development of the sleep tracking algorithm with NCNP

VELDT in joint-development with the National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry to advance sleep tracking algorithm

TOKYO – VELDT, Inc (Head office: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo CEO Jin Nonogami) that develops various IoT products and services for the global market announced that they have begun joint-development with Kazuo Mishima, MD, PhD, Department Director of the National Institute of Mental Health, National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry (NIMH/NCNP), Department of Psychophysiology. The cooperative development will aim to design software algorithm for wearable applications, such as smart watches and smart wrist bands, to accurately measure sleeping quality and quantity.

VELDT has been designing and developing wearable products to help improve health and well-being of its users. The new sleep tracking algorithm will be developed based on the vast experience in hypnology of Dr. Kazuo Mishima at the National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry. Developed with low power consumption circuit design, VELDT plans to apply this new algorithm to all of their next-generation products, as well as offer the circuit design to 3rd parties as OEM.

Today, one in five Japanese suffer from some type of sleep disorder. Along with offering the application, VELDT hopes that it will help improve sleep quality and daily life rhythms of people suffering from disorders. B to B projects are also being planned for companies to monitor workload and stress to support its employees.
